Fahri Hamzah and Fadli Zon, the two leaders of the House of Representatives (DPR) for the 2014-2019 period, will be given the Mahaputera Nararya Star award by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
This decision invited questions from numbers of Indonesians.
Mahfud Md announced that Fahri and Fadli received the Mahaputera Nararya award on Monday, August 10, 2020.
Mahfud said the Indonesians were considered to have benefited from the figures who would receive the Mahaputera Nararya award, including Fahri Hamzah and Fadli Zon.
As we knew, Fadli Zon and Fahri Hamzah were known to be controversial figures during their leadership of the DPR for the 2014-2019 period.
Regarding the awarding of the Mahaputera Nararya Star, Fahri and Fadli said this award as a token of their dedication as the leadership of the DPR last period.
“I think whatever comes from our state, it is an honor and it is also a tradition that has been carried out for years. Of course, we accept this as an honor from the state,” said Fadli Zon.
