A woman with the initials RK (35) had to deal with the police after stabbing her husband, Hendra Saputra, to death.
The police said that the incident was triggered by a quarrel between the victim and the perpetrator of the IDR 30 thousand in cash.
The Police Head of Mampang, Kompol Sujarwo, said the victim previously asked for money to buy cigarettes.
However, the wife did not give the money until an argument broke out.
Kapolsek Mampang, Kompol Sujarwo, explained that the incident took place at their residence on Bangka Street, Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta, on Sunday (6 August) at 09.30 am.
It started when the victim asked his wife for money.
The husband had hit his wife at that time and threatened her with a kitchen knife.
However, at that moment the wife managed to grab the knife that was held by the victim. It was at this time that the wife stabbed the victim.
In a stab wound condition, the husband still had time to chase his wife, who ran away looking for help to her parents’ house.
Not long after, Hendra immediately collapsed and was then treated by RK’s parents.
Hendra was also brought to the laundry where RK’s parents worked to be given help.
RK’s house with her parents is about 150 meters away.
When he was about to be taken to the Public Health Center, the victim was no longer alive.
The victim was declared dead in the afternoon.
Sujarwo said that this husband and wife often fight because of economic problems.
The victim is unemployed and the wife is no longer working because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The total number of witnesses currently being questioned is 5 people.
The evidence that was secured was the kitchen knife that was used to stab and the wife’s clothes during the stabbing incident.
As a result of his actions, RK was subject to Article 351 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of 7 years in prison.
