The majority of foreign students trapped in Australia due to the Coronavirus pandemic admit that they will not recommend this country as a destination for studying.
They are foreign students who participated in a survey conducted by the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and the University of New South Wales (UNSW.
The majority involved 6,000 respondents, including temporary visa holders.
These students and temporary visa holders have a bad impression after experiencing exploitation at work.
They also cannot receive financial support from the government during the Coronavirus pandemic.
These respondents are not eligible for government allowances and cash assistance through programs such as ‘JobKeeper’ or ‘JobSeeker’.
In fact, Australian students in other countries, such as the UK, Canada and Ireland, still get assistance from the government of the country where they are located.
Conditions like this are why many foreign students holding temporary visas are willing to be paid cheaply, some are not even paid, in order to keep their jobs in Australia.
According to Professor Bassina Farbenblum, this survey shows the majority of respondents have a bad impression of Australia’s treatment of them.
A separate survey of 5,000 foreign students by the Trade Union in New South Wales (NSW) found 60 percent of respondents had lost their jobs since March.
Nearly half were forced to eat less to save money.
