As a parent, we should take care of our children and give them with love and patients.
But, a father and stepmom from Minnesota, did something cruel to their child and killed her in a horrifying way. Those cruel parents named Sarah Hallow and Brett Hallow, 30.
Before died, the girl was found severely emaciated. For their act, they were charged with the murder of the 8-year-old daughter. They were each charged with one count on second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter. They are currently being held without bond.
Last week, police in Elk River responded to a call from a family that told to officer about the condition of a girl who was found unresponsive in a bathtub.
As quoted News24xx.com from FOX 9, two officers came to that house and their found Sarah Hallow, 28, performing chest compressions on Autumn Hallow, 8, who appeared extremely frail and thin. But, Autumn was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigators said she had likely been dead for some time, before the call based on the condition of her body, the station reported.
From an autopsy found, Autumn’s body was described as “‘markedly cachectic’ with scant fatty tissue, atrophic musculature, atrophic thyroid, and marked hair loss. And also she weighed 45 pounds when she died. And Autumn’s also had cuts and marks on her forehead, multiple bruises.
The medical examiner said, “Her fingers were blue when officers found her. An autopsy report found head trauma and said she likely died from asphyxiation.”
From the investigation, Autumn’s stepmother, Sarah Hallow told police that she found Autumn face down in the bathtub that day. But, it was wrong, because officers didn’t find water in the tub but they found feces inside and blood in different parts of the bathroom.
And the fact that makes the officers felt sad, Sarah Hallow and Brett Hallow would often tie Autumn up with a belt, a sweatshirt, or a sleeping bag when she misbehaved. And also Autumn was sometimes kept in the sleeping bag overnight in the living room and in the bathroom. The fact was known from other siblings of Autumn when interview by investigators.
After searching the apartment, investigators found the sweatshirt and another shirt the children said she had been tied up with soiled and human hair in a garbage bag in the bedroom.
