Police have illegally arrested a resident suspected of being a fry or baby lobster collector from fishermen on the south coast.
The perpetrator admitted that he had sent thousands of Jakarta fry five times for export.
Trenggalek Police Chief AKBP Doni Satria Sembiring said the ED perpetrator was a resident of Margomulyo Village, Watulimo District.
Also included is evidence of 2,300 lobsters of sand and 67 pearls, oxygen cylinders, and a number of supporting equipment.
“We again reveal the case of illegal baby lobster circulation, the perpetrator was arrested in the Watulimo area, 2,367 lobsters, with details of 2,300 types of sand and 67 types of pearls,” said AKBP Doni Satria Sembiring, Friday (20 August 2020).
From the results of the interim investigation, the ED perpetrators admitted to having received thousands of baby lobsters from fishermen operating in the Teluk Prigi area, Watulimo District.
However, the operations and activities of hunting and trading fry are not equipped with valid documents.
