North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s uncle, Kim Pyong Il, is said to be taking over after his nephew was rumored to be in a coma.
This year, Kim rarely appeared in public, when since April all kinds of rumors regarding his health condition have emerged.
Daily NK, citing a source in South Korean intelligence.
The source said that if, Kim Pyong Il, who is Kim Jong Il’s half brother, will continue to power.
The 65-year-old is known to be a handful of children of the founder of North Korea, Kim Il Sung, who is still alive today.
Reported by The Sun, Monday (24 August 2020), Kim Pyong Il was sent as an ambassador in a number of countries after Kim Jong Il became the supreme leader.
It is known that Kim Jong Un’s uncle served as North Korea’s representative for four decades in countries such as Finland, Poland, and the Czech Republic before returning in 2019.
The news came after a former South Korean official, Chang Song-min, made claims that Kim Jong Un was in a coma.
In fact, this office during the era of President Kim Dae-jung stated that Kim’s younger brother, Kim Yo Jong, would replace her older brother.
However, some have called Chang’s claim “absurd,” and North Korean experts believe that the change of power to Kim’s younger brother will not be as smooth as it has.
Thae Yong Ho, former North Korea’s deputy ambassador to Britain before defecting in 2016 said Kim Pyong Il is clearly the strongest candidate.
Apart from being a direct descendant of Kim Il Sung, another undeniable fact is that his uncle was a man.
North Korean officials who are so conservative clearly will not hand over power to Kim Yo Jong just like that.
Apart from being a woman, her age is also considered too young to be number one, which is believed to be 33 years old.
