British scientists say insect repellent sprays can kill the Corona COVID-19 virus.
The spray in question is a spray containing citriodiol.
Quoted from the New York Post, this research was conducted by scientists at the Defense Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL).
In the study, they found that the active ingredient made from oil in the leaves and twigs of the eucalyptus citriodora tree, namely citriodiol, can kill the type of virus that causes COVID-19.
Even so, this anti-insect spray containing citriodiol is said to be not effective enough to protect someone from exposure to the Coronavirus.
Therefore, the use of masks and washing hands regularly, as well as maintaining distance is still necessary.
Earlier in May, British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said that the country’s armed forces were being given insect repellent spray as potential protection against the Coronavirus.
