The situation in the eastern Mediterranean Sea is getting tense, the Turkish and Greek militaries are again involved in the confrontation.
Based on the information, the Turkish Air Force has been involved in a confrontation with the Greek military in the sky around the eastern Mediterranean waters.
It said Turkish fighter jets with Greece clashed in the air. The incident occurred on August 27, 2020.
Initially, the Turkish Air Force’s radar system detected the appearance of 6 mysterious fighter jets. After being investigated, it turned out that the fighter jet was an F-16 type belonging to the Greek Air Force.
“Six F-16 planes departed from the island of Crete for Southern Cyprus,” said the Turkish Defense Ministry.
The Turkish Air Force immediately flew the same type of fighter, the F-16, to carry out the expulsion.
The action was taken by the Turkish military because the Greek F-16s moved closer to the air territorial area declared as Turkey’s Operation Navtex area.
Finally, the confrontation in the air was inevitable, the situation was very tense because Turkish F-16 fighters were involved in chasing after Greek F-16s.
After several maneuvers, finally, Greek fighter jets were intercepted and driven off in the southwest around the island of Cyprus.
Previously, in this heated situation, the Turkish and Greek militaries had also been involved in the confrontation. But it occurs in the oceans around the waters of the eastern Mediterranean Sea.
