Doctors in Dumka, India, reportedly had to remove two charger cables from the bladder of a 35-year-old man.
The man was reportedly depressed because the wife eloped, so he stuck the cable into his penis while drunk.
Amita Rakshit, owner of the hospital in Dumka, said that initially the man came to the outpatient department (OPD) and admitted that he had severe stomach pain.
The man, who was not identified, did not mention the charger cable to the doctor on duty.
“He cried and asked us to save his life. Then the doctor asked for a ray examination. That’s when we were surprised that there were two cables in the bladder,” explained Rakshit.
Reported by Hindustan Times Sunday (7 June 2020), the operation was carried out by Dr Sunil Kumar, where they managed to remove the object one hour later.
Dr Kumar explained that they did not count the length of the cable that was removed from the patient’s stomach. However, he estimated each of the 45 centimeters.
The man later told the medical team that he stuck it into the penis while drunk about three months ago.
“At first, I didn’t feel anything when I peed. But one month later, the pain got even worse,” he explained.
He admitted that he could not tell that he did this ridiculous thing to other people. Because he was afraid of being considered ugly.
The man said he initially went to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi.
However, he ran away for fear of accepting social criticism.
Dr Kumar explained that the man initially had no problems urinating because there was still space in his bladder.
But over time, deposits began to appear on the wires that started blocking the urinary tract and started giving it pain.
“If (the cable) remains in the body for a long time, there could be damage to the kidneys and it could lead to cancer,” said Dr. Kumar.
He revealed that the man was likely a pervert suffering from depression because his wife had reportedly married another man.
The team of doctors is said to have operated on the man without charging him, who reportedly works as a painter.
