A spokesperson for the Covid-19 Task Force, Prof. Wiku Adisasmito, stated that one of the activities to increase body immunity, watching in the cinema, attracted a lot of criticism.
According to a number of parties, watching activities in theaters has a high risk of transmitting or contracting the coronavirus.
Responding to this, Wiku explained, immunity is a form of body resistance to disease.
Immunity can increase, he said, if a person’s psychological condition is in good condition.
He emphasized that the most effective way to maintain body immunity during a pandemic is to get enough rest, exercise enough, and maintain good nutritional intake.
Apart from physical, mental health also needs to be maintained.
Watching activities in the cinema, he said, is one option to maintain mental health.
Meanwhile to VOA, University of Indonesia (UI) Epidemiologist Tri Yunis Miko Wahyono said that the social activities that will be opened by the government to provide entertainment for the public must be carried out in stages.
According to him, opening a cinema is not the right choice at this time.
“It should be done in stages, don’t call the cinema increasing immunity, yes, everyone will question, (by the way) the immunity of society again, not individuals.
So maybe what is meant is individual immunity, right? There are different individuals, “said Tri.
He emphasized that the opening of the cinema can be done in the green zone, of course with very strict health protocols.
This can be done so that the wheels of the economy can run again in a safe condition from Covid-19.
The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan said that in the near future he will allow the reopening of cinemas in Jakarta.
According to him, this had been discussed with the Covid-19 Task Force.
This plan has drawn criticism from various parties because the addition of Covid-19 cases in the capital is still the highest in Indonesia.
