Data at the Indonesian Red Cross Indragiri Hilir, Riau shows that the number of donors who donated blood at the Indragiri Hilir Indonesian Red Cross has decreased since the pandemic.
Also, the Youth Red Cross has been less active to prevent the spread of the virus.
This was as explained by the Chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross, Indragiri Hilir, Zulaikhah Wardan when welcoming the visit of the Indonesian Red Cross in Riau Province to the Indragiri Hilir Indonesian Red Cross.
In the framework of this working visit, a meeting and friendship were held at the Indonesian Red Cross Headquarters, Indragiri Hilir Regency, on Saturday, August 29, 2020. On that occasion, the Riau Province Indonesian Red Cross gave guidance.
Responding to this, the Chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross, Indragiri Hilir, Zulaikhah Wardan, instructed cross-sector cooperation in conducting blood donation activities.
“Meanwhile, for the meeting of members of the Youth Red Cross, according to him it can be done virtually,” explained Zulaikhah.
At the same meeting, the Indonesian Red Cross Indragiri Hilir asked for operational vehicles, as well as supplies of masks, because one of the tools considered effective in preventing Covid-19 transmission was a mask.
