Siak Regent Alfefri received a working visit from the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia, led by the Chairman of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia, La Nyalla Mattalitti, and his entourage, the event took place at the garden owned by PTPN V, Lubuk Dalam sub-district, Siak district.
The working visit of the chairman and members of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia was to absorb aspirations and at the same time supervise the economic recovery period due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Siak Regent praised what the state-owned company had done, through the transmigration program, and oil palm for the people to participate in the welfare of the people of Siak Regency.
“It should be noted that PTPN V has helped alleviate the poverty of the people of Siak Regency, through the people’s palm oil program, this program can alleviate poverty. We should be grateful and appreciate what the company has done, ”he said.
In front of the chairman of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia, Alfedri also explained that the oil palm plantation in Siak Regency is quite large, there are 327 thousand hectares, almost 27 percent of the area of Siak Regency. The 21 thousand hectares that must be and are being replanted are spread across 31 villages in five sub-districts in Siak district.
“What we have replanted is around 3157 hectares, 3 thousand in collaboration with PTPN V which has already realized 1100 hectares, we will do this rejuvenation in stages,” he explained.
The number one person also welcomed the chairman of the DPD RI and his entourage in Siak Regency which is nicknamed the City of the Palace.
President Director of PTPN V Jatmiko K. Santosa said PTPN 50 percent of the CPO produced comes from the fruit of the community.
“How can we make farmers as partners. We make a scheme for how the farmers are comfortable so they don’t bear banking risks, cooperation between farmers and companies,” he said.
On that occasion, Jatmiko on behalf of the Company expressed his appreciation for the presence of the chairman of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia who could attend amidst his busy life.
“The management of PTPN 5 has carried out partnerships with farmers to support productivity, and over several years as a company engaged in the plantation sector it has also helped farmers replanting their oil palm plantations,” said Jatmiko.
He continued so that the company’s existence could be felt by the farmers around.
Also, said Jatmiko, PTPN 5 is one of the companies in the 7 state-owned plantation companies in the best category in its management and productivity.
“Hopefully we can maintain this,” he said.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia, La Nyalla Mattalitti, said that Riau fulfilled the characteristics or types of soil favored by oil palm plants. Palm oil is used as an oil, besides cooking oil palm fruit is also used soap, its waste is used as animal food. Meanwhile, the fruit shell is used as charcoal for fuel substituting for kerosene and coal.
“Because of this great potential, Riau has a target program to rejuvenate 24 thousand hectares of oil palm plantations, including Siak district by 2020,” said Nyalla.
He welcomed and was happy about this activity.
“Palm flowers appear at the age of 3 years, we can harvest at the age of 4 years, God willing, I will pick them when the harvest season arrives,” he concluded.
The event continued with the handing over of ready-to-plant oil palm seeds to representatives of the Tunas Muda Village Unit Cooperative, Budi Sawit Village Unit Cooperative, Tandan Mas Jaya, Karya Tani, Lembah Sawit and dialogue between oil palm farmers and senators from Riau.
Present at the event, the Chairperson of the farmer groups in the ranks of the Pelasma Chair of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia and the members of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia were elected from Riau, Assistant Deputy for Plantation and Forestry Dezty Arlaini, Secretary to the Head of the Riau Province Plantation Service, Deputy Director of Holding, Denaldy Plantation Mauna, Director of PTP V, Director of PTPN III, Chief of the Siak Resort Police, Kejari and Chairman of farmer groups in the plasma ranks.
