A desperate mother took to Facebook on Aug 30 to share the tragic news of her daughter dying after she was given a vaccine for cervical cancer.
In the heartbreaking post, the mother explained that her 11-year-old son went to school but had a fever.
The school hired a doctor to administer vaccinations for cervical cancer but when it was the girl’s turn, the doctor did not take her temperature.
The doctor admitted that he did not know if the child had a fever and started injecting him with the vaccine.
“My son had angina (chest pain caused by the heart muscle not receiving enough oxygenated blood), vomited, and then died. My child doesn’t have any underlying disease. He is healthy as usual. Please help me share this case, ”wrote the bereaved old man in his post.
Many netizens expressed their condolences to the parents of children who died and questioned why doctors did not test or ask the child’s symptoms of other illnesses before vaccinating him.
Others said that the school should also be held responsible for the losses.
The Thai Ministry of Health has a national cervical cancer vaccination policy for all fifth graders to ensure the health of their youth.
