Indian Railways plans to introduce private trains on its network in stages.
This train is designed to run at a maximum speed of 160 km/hour.
For the first phase, a dozen trains will start running from 2023 to 2024.
By 2027, the government will build as many as 151 trains, said an official with knowledge of the plan on condition of anonymity.
According to the ministry, the first group is expected to start plying in 2023-24, followed by 45 more in 2024 to 2025, the next 50 in FY 2025-26, and 44 in 2026-27.

The railway ministry on July 1 began the formal process of allowing private trains on 109 routes.
It is the first time that one of the leading government companies in recent decades has managed to meet the demands of a fast-growing economy.
