Siak Regent Alfedri attended the inauguration of the board of the Regional Representative Council and the Representative Council Branch of the Riau Batak Family Association in Siak Regency, at the Tengku Mahratu Siak building. He advised all associations to always maintain togetherness and cohesiveness so that life can be harmonious.
“Always maintain togetherness and cohesiveness, that was also the teaching point of Sultan Siak first, and that message was also maintained in the early days of Siak Regency during the leadership of Pak Arwin AS,” said Alfedri.
According to him, harmony and togetherness will continue to be maintained and can bring Siak to a more advanced level.
“Good relations so far, continue. Because all this time, the Batak Riau Family Association as a partner of the local government to jointly build this Siak Regency,” said Rasidah’s husband.
Meanwhile, the former Siak Regent, Arwin, who was also present at the event, said that his emotional relationship with the Batak people is quite close because his family is from the Batak tribe.
“My wife is Nasution’s clan, my in-laws are Harahap, my son-in-law is also a Batak. If anyone asks me about Batak people, I am closest to Batak people,” explained the Siak Regent for the two periods.
He explained that during his leadership in Siak Regency for two periods, the inter-tribal harmony in Siak continued to be harmonious. It was until Alfedri’s leadership that he never heard of any conflict between tribes.
“That means, in Siak, people live in harmony as neighbors. This cohesiveness and togetherness must be continued,” he hoped.
Chairman of the IKBR Siak Regency, Rojiun Situmorang, said that the regional government, in this case, the Regent of Siak, expressed his gratitude for being present at the inauguration of the Riau Siak Batak Family Association.
“So far, we live in Siak quite comfortably. We would like to thank the Regent of Siak, who continues to maintain cohesiveness and togetherness, far from being conflicted,” he said.
Rojiun hopes that the relationship between the Riau Batak Family Association and the local government will continue, and the Batak families in Siak can work together to build this Siak Regency.
Previously, the Regent of Siak was greeted with a Tor-Tor dance performed by students from Siak Raya, accompanied by traditional Batak music. Then at the end of the event, the Regent and other guests were given a sign of honor in the form of a Batak ulos cloth. (Adv)
