A viral video shows a shirtless woman being carried by a number of youths on the side of the road, in Pasaman.
Not only that, a number of children seemed to accompany the woman.
The police asked the public not to upload and share videos which were deemed to contain these acts of persecution
In the 30-second video, the woman appears to be trying to cover her chest with her irregular clothes.
However, a young man then pulled her clothes.
However, the woman continued to try to cover her body parts that were forbidden to be seen by people.
Head of Public Relations of the West Sumatra Regional Police (West Sumatra), Kombes Pol Stefanus Satake Bayu Setianto said he had knowledge of the incident.
The woman with the initials M, 25 years old was paraded by the crowd because she was caught committing nasty.
She and her partner with the initials MA, 23 years before have been arrested by the public for committing immoral acts.
“The pervert couple had previously been reprimanded by the masses several times, but were ignored.
(They) were raided by residents and then paraded and taken to the place of the Head of Jorong Ampang Gadang, ”said Satake when met by reporters at the West Sumatra Regional Police Headquarters, Wednesday (September 2, 2020).
Due to this incident, the family agreed to marry the couple.
They currently have the status of husband and wife. Ninik mamak also imposed sanctions on those concerned.
Satake appealed to the public not to take justice into their own hands.
