As cited News24xx.com from the Associated Press agency, on Monday, Sept. 7, 2020, the government of Australia announced that they had struck agreements with pharmaceutical companies for two potential COVID-19 vaccines.
Known that the worth of agreements is up to 1.7 billion Australian dollars (USD1.2 billion).
The agreements mentioned that the Britain’s University of Oxford has collaboration with AstraZeneca and the Australia’s University of Queensland. It works to provide more than 84.8 million vaccine doses for 26 million Australians.
As information, almost all of the vaccines will be made in Melbourne, Australia.
And a government statement told both vaccines would need to be proven safe and effective and meet all necessary regulatory requirements before being made available to the public.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison said, “Any vaccine would be free to all Australians.”
