The government will spend a budget of IDR 37 trillion for the procurement of the coronavirus vaccine (Covid-19) next year.
This is to meet the demand for vaccines in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, in 2020 Indonesia has prepared a budget of IDR 3.8 trillion for the vaccine.
This was revealed by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto after the Plenary Cabinet Session, Monday (7 September).
Currently, vaccine discovery is still being pursued by a number of parties including Indonesia.
The Indonesian government itself has collaborated with a number of vaccine producers, namely Sinovac from China and G42 from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
It is planned that this year Indonesia will get 30 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Later the vaccine will be injected in early 2021.
Apart from collaborating with a number of producers, Indonesia is also developing a Red and White Vaccine.
The government is targeting the vaccine to be produced in mid-2021.
