The Regional Library and Archives Service (DPAD) of Indragiri Hilir (Inhil) succeeded in bringing one of the Senior High Schools (SMA), namely SMKN 1 Tembilahan, to win second place in the Senior High School / Madrasah Level Library Contest in Riau Province.
For the achievements that have been made, the DPAD Inhil will also participate in library competitions for SD / MI, SLTP / MTs, SLTA / MA and Village Libraries.
Not only that, as conveyed by the Head of Inhil DPAD, Yulizal, that the DPAD will propose to the Inhil Regency Government to program One Village One Library.
“We are also committed to advancing libraries, in an effort to increase public interest in reading. Therefore, we hope for cooperation and support from all parties so that the existence of libraries as a warehouse for knowledge and information can continue to develop and be better,” he added.
Yulizal also expressed his deep appreciation for the success of SMKN 1 Tembilahan, which won second place in the Senior High School / Madrasah Library Contest in Riau Province.
“This Senior High School Level Library Contest is a form of encouragement from the Provincial Government to interest in reading, literacy, and libraries in Riau Province. SMKN 1, which won second place, certainly brings achievement and pride to the Inhil community,” he said.
Yulizal explained, the important role of school libraries in forming student human resources. A superior and attractive school library will be able to foster reading, critical, and curious character for students.
