A man named Igor Kravtasov from Moscow was detained by police in Russia after his video on social media went viral.
In the video, Igor is seen lifting his infant child upside down by only holding one of the child’s legs.
Not only that, the man who is also an influencer on social media also said that he believed that babies should be treated like monkeys.
Because of his action, his wife was also dragged away and detained for 10 days by the police.
Even now, social services are considering taking custody of the couple.
This certainly invited a lot of criticism, including from childcare experts.
They say that tilting the baby upside down risks damaging his health.
It can also cause the baby’s neck to break.
However, some of Igor’s supporters seemed to defend him, saying that what Igor was doing was similar to yoga or baby exercise.
Neonatologist Vera Pushkareva herself insists that the baby should not be shaken.
This is because babies have neck muscles that are still weak and cannot work properly and their blood vessels are not yet perfect, so shaking the baby can actually trigger bleeding.
He also warned that the joints and bones in children are soft.
Extremely violent shaking can cause displacement of the spine or cause other problems.
Therefore, currently the baby is reportedly in Sochi Hospital to get a medical examination.
