Alfedri with the Head of the Riau Province National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) Mahdalena saw the social service of the long-term contraceptive method (MKJP) family planning after the commemoration of World Contraception Day.
Rasidah’s husband, who was wearing Siak batik invited the woman to join the government program, namely only two children, with the tagline “Planning is Cool”.
Head of Representative of the BKKBN of Riau Mahdalena said this commemoration aims to increase public awareness of contraceptive use and seek the younger generation to obtain information on reproductive health and sexual health.
The first World Contraception Day (WCD) campaign was launched worldwide on Sept. 26, 2007.
“The commemoration of World Contraception Day should not be just a ceremonial celebration, but we must also take advantage of this moment to continue to promote the Population, Family Planning and Family Development Program (KKBPK). The provision of contraceptive services and the integration of community-based service concepts have succeeded in reducing numbers. birth, maternal mortality rate and contribute to increasing women’s participation in the economy, “he said.
He explained, currently, the BKKBN of Riau is prioritizing family programs, according to the aspirations of the Indonesian president.
“A quality family is of course in the form of teenagers who are about to get married, and we guarantee that these teenagers are ready to marry, of course, quality teenagers too,” he explained.
This activity has the theme of social assistance, the target of long-term contraceptive methods for family planning servants, in commemoration of World Contraception Day.
However, it is unfortunate that the target set for Riau has only reached 58 percent, while for Siak the community participation rate is only 28 percent, meaning that it is far from the target set by BKKBN for the Riau region.
Also present at the event, the head of the BKKBN for Riau Regional, Head of Sabak Auh Sub-district, Chair of the Siak District Association of Women (DWP), Head of the Siak Regency NP3KB Service, Head of Sabak Auh Community Health Center, community leaders and hundreds of Health Centre cadres from Sabak Auh sub-district.
