Apple is making it a hit to wear an OS smartwatch that barely collides, and may never recover. The dust has faded and we all have very little time to take advantage of the new Apple Watch and iPad and Apple One service pack that Apple has dumped all of them.
Possibly the biggest announcement Apple Watch Series 6. Apple introduced a larger display of new colors for smartwatches, new stripes, and new screens, double for better visibility in direct sunlight. The 6 Series also comes with a blood oxygen monitor – another way to help monitor your health. Like the Apple Watch’s heart monitoring facilities, a blood oxygen monitor can help identify early signs of the disease.
This is a good update, but the least advertised is the Apple Watch SE. At $ 279, you will get most Series 5 smartwatches, starting at $ 399 last year, which is $ 120. And it comes with a handful of Series 6 features.
This is Apple’s most aggressive attack on its competitors. Apple no longer punches and punches its rivals. Along with the Apple Watch SE, Apple has launched Live Daylight from Wear OS and the Tizen-based Samsung Smartwatch.
I made no secret that I like Apple Watch so much. Crazy too. I bought the original and then the Series 4, which I wear on my wrist (look, it looks like my heart rate has gone up!). I struck a chord last month when I told how Apple Watch became my secret weapon to escape the epidemic.
But the Apple Watch is still an expensive device, especially if you want the latest and best. Series 6 pricing starts at $ 399 for the 40mm model with GPS and $ 499 for the 44mm model with GPS + Cellular. In five years, the penetration of Apple Watch ownership has dropped dramatically.
In 2015, Apple Watch debuted at $ 349 for the 38mm model. Today, you can get the Apple Watch Series 3 starting at $ 199 and a mid-range Apple Watch SE starting at $ 279. This is a really great value. I have heard from many people that they want an Apple Watch but the entry bar has always been high in price. Now, I don’t think there is any valid excuse now.
This strong price is not just attractive to Apple Watch buyers. I expect Apple Watch SE to turn many iPhone families into Apple Watch families. Perhaps first, parents would treat themselves to the Apple Watch. But I think we will see series 3 and SE wearing children and the aged respectively. I, personally, have wanted to detect drops and irregular heart notifications since my father’s retirement watch, Apple Watch Series 4, but I agree that the price would have set me back.
