The clinical trial of the Corona COVID-19 vaccine developed by Oxford, AstraZeneca, was temporarily suspended because a volunteer fell ill mysteriously.
Initially the Oxford party kept the volunteer disease a secret.
It is now known that the volunteers are experiencing neurological symptoms related to a rare inflammatory disorder called transverse myelitis.
Related to this, the Oxford campus has also uploaded a document explaining information related to volunteers.
The results of the investigation found that the disease may not be related to vaccine administration.
“After an independent review, the disease is considered not related to the vaccine or not enough evidence to confirm the relationship between the two,” wrote the document as quoted by Reuters, Thursday (17 September 2020).
Vaccine clinical trials have now resumed in the UK, Brazil and South Africa.
However, the United States is known not to want to continue.
Transverse myelitis can cause spinal cord injury.
Symptoms range from weakness in the hands or feet, pain, to abnormal sensations ranging from numbness, tingling, to burning.
