National Police Chief General Idham Azis issued the Republic of Indonesia National Police Regulation Number 4 of 2020 concerning Self-Guided Security.
The contents are related to the uniform and attributes of members of the Security Unit (Satpam).
Head of the Public Information Bureau of the National Police’s Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, said that in the regulation, the similarity in the use of brown for a security guard uniform with that of the Police.
“The philosophy of the security guard uniform, which is light brown for clothes and dark brown for pants, means that brown is identical to the color of earth or earth, wood and stone which means natural colors,” Awi said when confirmed, Tuesday (15 September 2020).
Furthermore, brown is considered as a neutral color that symbolizes modesty, foundation, stability, warmth, a sense of security and comfort, as well as a sense of trust, elegance, fortitude, and honesty.
According to Awi, the philosophy of security guard uniforms and Polri uniforms is expected to foster at least four things.
“First, there is an emotional closeness between the National Police and the Security Guard; second, the security of the security guard as the bearer of the limited police function; third, the security guard profession is established; and fourth, it increases the role of the police in the midst of society,” he explained.
The five types of security guard clothing accompanied by regulated ranks are Daily Service Clothes (PDH), Special Field Service Clothing (PDL Sus), Field Service One Clothes (PDL One), Daily Civil Clothing (PSH), and Complete Civil Clothing (PSL). .
