Kasat Reskrim Sumedang Police AKP Yanto Slamet on Thursday (17 September 2020) confirmed that the perpetrator had been arrested.
There are three suspects in this case.
The three of them are P, A and DY.
In the video that goes viral, P acts as a flag scissors while the other two suspects are not known.
Yanto added that the three of them were threatened with the same article, namely Article 66 in conjunction with Article 24 letter A of Republic of Indonesia Law Number 24 of 2009 concerning the flag, language and state symbols as well as the national anthem.
“The threat is five years in prison and a fine of IDR 500 million,” he said.
The video of the action of women cutting red and white flags went viral on social media, Wednesday (September 16).
In the video, you can see a middle-aged woman holding scissors and a red and white flag cloth.
The woman dressed in red then cut the red and white flag bit by bit.
After being cut, the flags were scattered on the floor.
