As many as 500 heads of families in the Pusako sub-district, Siak Regency who were affected by Covid-19 received phase II basic food assistance from the Siak Regency Government on Friday (19/9/2020). This basic food aid was symbolically handed over by the Regent of Siak Alfedri in Sungai Berbari village.
Regent Alfedri conveyed that this assistance was for the poor or underprivileged people who had never received assistance. He hopes that the assistance can be useful to ease the burden on family life.
“Today we are handing over basic food packages in Pusako sub-district, for the poor and people affected by Covid19 who have never received assistance. Both from central, provincial, and village funds, “said Alfedri.
According to Alfedri, the aid has been verified in stages by officers. “The social assistance distributed in phase II is 33,691 families, which are spread throughout the villages and sub-districts,” said Alfedri.
Meanwhile, Head of the Social Service, Wan Idris, said that this social safety net program uses the 2020 Siak APBD funds. This assistance is in the form of goods consisting of 10 kg of rice, 3 liters of cooking oil, 2 kg of sugar, and 425 grams of 2 cans of sardines.
He explained that the people who received the assistance were based on data from the local RT and RW. Then the RT and RW proposed to the village or sub-district office. Subsequently, it was discussed with village officials whether the potential recipients were eligible or not to be given assistance.
And then the Social Service through the facilitator officers double-check the proposals from the RT and RW, whether there are any issues with other social assistance. Such as PKH assistance, food social assistance, non-cash social assistance from the social ministry, assistance from village funds.
“So these slices are checked again. If if we find residents who have received other social assistance, then these residents will not receive this basic food assistance, “he explained.
After being deliberated, he continued, the data was proposed to the sub-district head to be re-validated by the sub-district. Then a decree is drawn up and proposed to the district through the social agency.
The office then validated again because there were indications that residents had received other social assistance.
“After we checked again, there was a reduction, because the data on the names of the residents were identified as receiving other social assistance,” said Wan Idris again.
After being validated by the social service, then the Siak Regent Decree was issued, then the department arranged a distribution schedule to all districts.
For the second stage, the social services agency gives time to the village authorities for 12 working days to distribute assistance to each resident.
For the third stage, his party is waiting for the progress of distribution from the second stage from each village.
So there are no more additions to stage three but improvements to stage three. Because the budget proposed in the amended budget is in accordance with the predetermined quota.
“For the second stage, we hope that this week it will be completed,” he concluded.
The mechanism for receiving this basic food assistance is based on the Siak Regent Regulation Number 34 of 2020 relating to the Social Assistance for Basic Food from the Siak Regency Government.
