Possession of a firearm in conducting a drug smuggling crime, Sentenced Bradley O’Donnell, 28, of South Bend, Indiana, before US District Court Judge Damon R. Leste pleaded guilty to being a pioneer in the drug trafficking crime.
O’Donnell was sentenced to 60 years in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release.
According to documents in the case, on the morning of March 29, 2020, the night of March 28, Mr. O’Donnell was dispensing methamphetamine and while he was doing so he was carrying a loaded pistol. Police later found Mr. O’Donnell with 120 grams of methamphetamine and a gun. Mr. O’Donnell had previously been convicted of three criminal offenses.
The case was investigated by the Office of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives with the help of the Michoaca Police Department. The case was handled by US Assistant Attorney General Joel Gabriel.
