Andono Warih, the Head of Jakarta Environment Agency said that 328 tons of waste have been cleaned up from the Manggarai floodgate of Ciliwung River in South Jakarta, on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020, at 8 a.m.
The government of Jakarta also had tasked 10 officers, five dump trucks, and two heavy equipment at the West Flood Canal in Season City, West Jakarta.
Andono said, “We have readied officers, trucks, and heavy tools since yesterday. The water level at the trash in Manggarai water gate reached 740 centimeters at 8 a.m.”
As information, several areas of the capital city were flooded following extreme rain in Jakarta Greater Area or Jabodetabek from Monday afternoon to evening, September 21, 2020.
The Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) reported that 56 neighboring units (RT) were still inundated with 10 centimeters to one meter of floodwaters.
