In a tragic incident, a Indiana man named Joseph Oberhansley accused of raping and killing his ex-girlfriend. Then, he decided to eating her organs.
As result, he has been found guilty six years after the brutal slaying by a jury in Clark County.
The victim named Tammy Jo Blanton was found dead in the bath tub of her Jefferson home the morning of Sept. 11, 2014. Her boyfriend, Oberhansley also found by the officers with a skillet, a bloody pair of tongs and a plate and bones.
From the investigation, the 46-year-old victim was raped and stabbed at least 25 times.
Blanton had just broken up with her 38-year-old boyfriend and she was left so terrified of Oberhansley she changed her locks, often checked her windows and put a chair in front of the door.
During a text message that sent to her friend on Sept. 10, 2014, she wrote, “I’m taking my life back. I worked too hard to get here.”
Hours later, Blanton called 911 in panic, telling the dispatcher that her ex was outside her home trying to break in.
Jeffersonville Police responded, but Oberhansley allegedly confessed to the murder that morning after the officers discovered Blanton’s mutilated body covered up by a tarp, when the officers returned to the residence.
In past, Oberhansley’s court date was initially set for 2016, but in 2018 the decision was reversed and his trial kicked off in 2019. Then, the second trial began on Sept. 11, 2020 exactly six years after the killing and he has been found guilty six years.
