In a tragic incident, an Indiana woman and her friend have been charged after murdering the woman’s husband with poisonous mushrooms.
The woman named Katrina Fouts, 54, and Terry Hopkins, 65, are suspected of killing Fouts’ husband, 50-year-old David Fouts.
On April 24, 2020, David Fouts was found dead in a ditch in Noblesville, Ind., about 30 miles north of downtown Indianapolis.
From the investigation, the police found that seven extremely poisonous mushrooms found in his stomach. And police said that Katrina Fouts had a screenshot of one type of poison mushroom saved on her phone.
Through a lie detector test, Katrina Fouts was also charged with lying to police. And from her google search in her phone, police also found that she searched, “How to pass indiana homicide laws” and “crime of passion law in indiana.”
Investigators said they first suspected Katrina Fouts because she never reported her husband missing nor attempted to contact him in the days after he disappeared.
As result, Katrina Fouts and Hopkins are being held in jail without bond and they due back in court Nov. 18 as cited News24xx.com from the Indianapolis Star.
