Nicolas Escobar told local media that he found a hideout on the wall of a house in Medellin, Colombia.

The house was used by his uncle Pablo Escobar as the headquarters of a drug and cocaine syndicate.

News network Red Mas Noticias reported Wednesday (23 September) that Pablo Escobar’s nephew found a plastic bag hidden in a wall containing 18 million US dollars worth of cash.

Nicolas Escobar said he had smelled an unpleasant smell from a certain part of the house.

After dismantling the wall, he found the hiding place.

Apart from the money, the plastic bag also contained nuggets of gold, radio communications, tape recorders, typewriters, pens and cameras.

But because it was too old, the film on the camera could no longer be processed.

Medellin is the center of a notorious and brutal Colombian drug syndicate.

In the city there are still many stories about Pablo Escobar, who is said to be the richest criminal in history, earning billions of dollars a year.

Pablo Escobar is accused of ordering or committing the murder of some 6,000 people himself.

His fortune is estimated at around 50 billion dollars.

He is said to have owned a luxury yacht, a private zoo, and expensive racehorses.

Every day, the Medellin drug syndicate smuggles up to 15 tons of Cocaine.

Pablo Escobar surrendered in 1991 to the authorities and was sentenced to five years in prison on a number of charges, but he reached an agreement with the then President of Colombia, Cesar Gaviria, that he would be held in a prison he built himself and would not be extradited to the United States.

In 1992, the security forces intended to transfer Pablo Escobar to another detention facility, but he escaped and disappeared.

In 1993 he was found in Medellin and shot dead by police while trying to escape on rooftops.

To local media, Nicolas Escobar explained, the tens of millions of dollars found on the wall of his uncle’s house were too old.

So, now it’s not selling anymore.
