The death of the black American George Floyd, the unlawful actions of the police during his detention, and the subsequent massive protests against racism in the United States seriously disturbed the public.
The country again started talking about racial discrimination and infringement of the rights of black people.
This problem also affected the 45-year-old Angelina Jolie, who, along with her ex-husband Brad Pitt in 2005, adopted a dark-skinned girl named Zahara from Ethiopia.
The actress is seriously worried that her 15-year-old daughter will become a “target” for the system when she grows up.
Now the racial tension in the country is higher than ever, so the star is afraid that Zakhara will face certain difficulties.

“A system that protects me, but cannot protect my daughter or any other man, woman, or child in our country, based on the color of their skin, is unacceptable. We must move from empathy and good intentions to laws and policies that address the issue of systematic racism and impunity,” she said.
“So, stopping police abuse is just the beginning. This should go far beyond encompassing all aspects of society, from the education system to our politics”, she said in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar.
Jolie added that people are tired of half measures and excuses on the part of the authorities, and expressed hope that historical changes will happen in the country soon.
“The time has come to make changes to our laws and our institutions, to listen to those who suffered the most and were deprived of a voice”, the star concluded.
