23-year-old British tourist Lizzie Weir and her companion Ben Holmes were filming monkeys in the Indonesian resort of Bali when suddenly one of them snatched a camera from the hands of Europeans and began filming on their own.
There was a feeling that this wasn’t the first time the primates had seen the camera.
The published footage shows how one monkey takes the camera from the hands of tourists and directs it at himself.
Another monkey, meanwhile, climbs onto Weir’s head, as if posing in front of its fellow tribesman, and also manages to press the camera button in time.
“It was just incredible, it seemed that the kid knew what he was doing. He seemed to be deliberately adjusting the lens to look better in the frame”, said the British.
Fortunately for tourists, having played enough with the camera, the monkeys allowed the foreigners to take their cameras.
This story is not the only example of a monkey selfie.
