CRISTIANO Ronaldo confirmed positive for Covid-19, according to a statement from the Portuguese Football Federation.
The Juventus striker, however, is in good health and does not have any symptoms but is self-isolating.
Recent developments also left Ronaldo absent from the Swedish League League on Thursday morning.
“Cristiano Ronaldo will miss with the national squad after a screening test found him positive for Covid-19, so he will not face againts Sweden. The Portuguese player is in good health with no symptoms and is currently undergoing quarantine,” the Portuguese Football Federation said in a statement.
The statement also stated that other players on the Portuguese team have tested negative and ready to play in the match.
Ronaldo is the latest world star to be infected with the epidemic. Before, his teammates at Juventus Blaise Matuidi, Paulo Dybala and Daniele Rugani were confirmed positive for Covid-19.
