It’s so amazing, a fisherman in India caught a two-headed baby shark, and it becomes a rare spectacle for residents in Maharashtra’s Palghar region.
The fisherman from Satpati village named Nitin Patil caught the small fish in his net.
After he becomes confused by the looks of it, he snapped a few pictures of this fish before releasing it back into the sea.
Then, he decided to share the pictures of the rare genetic anomaly on his social media and it is going viral.
As cited News24xx.com from HT, Patil says that his family does not eat such small fish, especially sharks.
“So I decided to throw it anyway.”
The images of the baby shark that Patil’s share, becomes a study for the researchers from the Indian Council for Agricultural Research – Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (ICAR-CMFRI), Mumbai and they confirmed the discovery as ‘very rare documentation.’
The scientist said the heads of the baby shark were joined behind the gills and such two-headed sharks were quite rare in the wild.
