After getting a knee injury Virgil van Dijk, the Dutch centre-back will have surgery on his ACL and faces a battle to play again this season.
It becomes good news for Liverpool after the Dutchman getting a couple of pieces of on the injury front after the devastating blow suffered, following Jordan Pickford’s out of control lunge in Sunday’s Merseyside.
Van Dijk says although he is prepared to fight his way back to fitness, he seems confident that he will play again before 2020/21 is out.
Through his social media, he wrote, “With the support of my wife, kids, family and everyone at Liverpool, I’m ready for the challenge ahead. I’d like to thank everyone for the messages of support, it’s meant a huge amount to me and my family, and I’ll now be doing everything possible to support my teammates in any way that I can ahead of a big few weeks as I take my recovery day by day.
