A woman in Gaung Subdistrict, Indragiri Hilir with the initials N died on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020, died due to domestic violence that she experienced.
The 36-year-old woman allegedly had complained to her younger brother with the initials J, for what she experienced.
The Inhil Police Chief, AKBP Dian Setyawan through the Head of Public Relations of the Inhil Police, AKP Warno, Monday, Oct. 26, 2020, said that the beginning of the incident was Friday, Oct. 23, 2020.
At that time the victim called her brother and told him that she was beaten by her husband.
Initially, the younger brother asked his sister to be patient, but because he was worried, he went to his sister’s house.
When he arrived at his sister’s residence, he had a chance to meet with his sister’s husband, whose initials T was sitting in front of the house.
And when he entered the house, he saw his sister lying and crying, complaining about her aching stomach.
“The victim said her stomach hurt after being trampled by her husband,” continued Warno.
Hearing that, he went to his sister’s husband and asked him to be taken for treatment.
He went and bought his sisters some food. But, after providing the food, the woman admitted that she could not eat.
Then the next day, he got a call that his sister died. He went straight to his sister’s house and he saw that his sister had died.
“His younger brother reported the incident to the Gaung Police, around 7.30 pm. Then, members of the Gaung Police Criminal Investigation Unit together with the UPT Kuala Lahang Health Center medical team arrived at the victim’s house and conducted a medical examination/post mortem on the victim’s body,” said Warno.
From the results of the post mortem, it was found that there were bruises on the victim’s stomach due to a blunt object.
There were bruises on both of the victim’s legs (the victim’s calf).
It is strongly suspected that there was bleeding from the internal organs of the victim and fresh blood coming out of the victim’s mouth.
“The reported party has been secured at the Gaung Police for further investigation,” explained Warno.
