As many as two residential units on Jalan Sederhana, Tembilahan Hulu District, Indragiri Hilir (Inhil) Regency, were burned in the morning, Monday, November 2, 2020.
The eyewitness whose house was also burned, Arsyad told the police that the fire first started at around 04:30 am, local time.
“According to witness testimony, the fire was first seen from Arbayah’s house,” explained Inhil Police Chief, AKBP Dian Setyawan through the Head of Public Relations of Inhil Police, AKP Warno.
Because the house is semi-permanent, the fire spreads quickly and gets bigger, local residents try to extinguish the fire with makeshift equipment.
Finally, at around 06.15 am, local time, the fire was extinguished with the help of 2 units of Damkar cars and 4 units of PSMTI Inhil extinguishing engines.
Apart from consuming two housing units, the fire also left homeowners Arbayah and Abdul Hair with burns and was rushed to Puri Husada Tembilahan Hospital.
Arbayah (62) had burns on her face, neck, hands, and feet while Abdul Hair (61) had burns on her hands and feet.
