A CCTV footage has emerged of a man known as Edgar Z, wheeling the corpses of two dismembered children in a box.
The man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of two teenage boys named Hector Efrain, 14, and Alan Yair, 12 – in Mexico City, just metres from a police officer.
Edgar Z is seen pushing the boxes along the pavement before his trolley wheels appear to jam and he ends up crashing into a container by the side of the road.
He spends several seconds fighting to right the trolley and carry on his journey.
The mishap is said to have sparked his arrest and the discovery of the remains of two missing children including a human arm, shoulder and ear after they spilt from the boxes onto the tarmac.
Three men have so far been arrested over the murders of Hector Efrain, 14, and Alan Yair, 12, who were last seen on October 28.
Before being dismembered the children are said to have been beaten, according to local reports.
The gang said to be behind the horrific crimes has been named as Union Tepito, a criminal organisation created in 2009 linked to drugs trafficking, kidnap, extortion and murder.
Edgar’s boss Jose David N, alias El Chayan, has also been arrested.
