THREE Serbian players have confirmed positive for Covid-19 ahead of the UEFA Nations League against Russia, according to the country’s soccer body.
Midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic; Winger Darko Lazovic and goalkeeper Djordje Nikolic have been ordered into quarantine as they tested positive after tests were carried out on all players yesterday.
According to European Football Union (UEFA) rules, the trio must leave the training camp and go into quarantine.
Serbia previously had to play without a captain, Aleksandar Kolarov, who left the team and returned to Italy, having tested positive for Covid-19.
Kolarov was only on the bench last week when he lost to Scotland on penalties which saw Serbia miss next year’s Euros.
Serbia is under UEFA Nations League Group B3 which also houses Russia, Hungary, and Turkey.
