The fires incident that occured on October 20, 2019 caused three residents in Ahmad Yani street, Parit 10, Tembilahan Hulu Village, Inhil lose their homes.
But one month after the incident, the residents who lost their homes, already have their homes again.
The construction of houses for the victims was initiated by Indragiri Hilir (Inhil) Police with the Vioni Bersaudara Foundation, and added by several donors who participated, such as the Chairman of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Inhil, 3 M Hospital, PLN ULP Tembilahan and community leaders in Sungai Piring.
The construction of houses for fire victims was done by the Army of Indonesia and the Police of Indonesia (TNI-Polri) and assisted by the surrounding public with a spirit of togetherness and solidarity.
Marlis Syarif, the supervisor of the Vioni Bersaudara Foundation, representatives of the donors, hopes that the assistance provided by donors can be accepted and beneficial for the fire victims.
“We know that this assistance cannot replace what has been lost or burned for the victims, but hopefully the assistance that we provide is useful for fire victims especially during the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Chief Police of Indragiri Hilir, AKBP Dian Setyawan when handover the keys the house said that the construction of the houses was initiated by donors and assisted by the residents of Tembilahan Hulu.
“This house construction activity aims to foster public cooperation and increase the sense of care of Inhil youths and girls towards others,” said Inhil Police Chief, AKBP Dian.
Dandim 0314 / Inhil represented by Kasdim Lieutenant Colonel Untung Kusmanto expressed his gratitude to donors and the public who helped fire victims in rebuilding their houses.
“This is what is called a form of synergy between each other, caring for relatives who need help. Hopefully this culture can continue to be closely in the future so that Inhil can live more in harmony and harmony,” he explained.
