In a TikTok video that uploaded on Sunday, internet-famous aesthetician Reza Gladys appeared to wear a flesh-colored long-sleeved undershirt that widely known as “manset” in Indonesia.
And she also wore a hijab of a similar color as the undershirt. Though the undershirt’s sleeve is visible, but Reza’s choice of clothing looks not immodest.
The TikTok video was intended to show the designer pieces Reza owns in her walk-in closet, before being styled by her assistant or fashion stylist.
But finally, Reza receive negative comments from netizens, who mainly accused her for not covering her aurat (Islamic term for parts of the body that should be covered for the sake of modesty).
The netizens hasn’t stopped from talking about her undershirt :
Why would she think of wearing a flesh-colored undershirt.
I sometimes wear hijab, but sometimes I don’t. If you wear the hijab, please wear clothes that look modest for hijabis. It doesn’t matter if your akhlak (practice of virtue, morality, and manners) is not yet perfect beneath your hijab. But please, wear appropriate clothing for hijab.
Until now, Reza hasn’t addressed the matter.
Born Reza Gladys Prettyani Sari, the skincare specialist has made quite a name for herself in the past couple of years thanks to her viral social media posts, which have seen her amass over 269K followers on Instagram and 1.1 million on TikTok. She owns a chain of aesthetic clinics in her birthplace of Cianjur, West Java, Jakarta and four other cities in Java, along with skincare and slimming drink brands under the name Glafidsya.
The doctor, who’s famous for her glowing-borderline-oily skin, revealed that she and her husband were financially struggling and lived in a small kontrakan (rented house) up until 10 years ago before they became successful.
Reza, who will turn 32 in December, recently gained much attention online for revealing that her walk-in closet is equipped with an iPad for her fashion inventory, as well as hiring two personal stylists and a cleaner.
