Hearing about the ban on coconut exports, Member of Commission VII DPR RI, Abdul Wahid immediately contacting Commission IV DPR RI.
He also asked to cease the discussion about stopping coconut exports because it would be detrimental to coconut farmers.
“When there was a discourse that I wanted to stop, I immediately discussed with the ministry and Commission IV of the DPR RI. I explained that many people depend on coconuts, including in Riau such as Indragiri Hilir and Teluk Meranti,” explained the Politician from the National Awakening Party (PKB).
Wahid explained that he agreed if the local industry needs to turn on, and the “faucet” needs to open until the government could stabilize the price of coconut.
“I have tried everything as much as possible. When I consulted Commission IV, they said there was indeed a discourse, but they are still waiting for the government to stabilize prices,” he continued.
