However, some sights may be more unsettling and terrifying than most.
Lake Natron in Tanzania is a salt lake, meaning water flows into it but only comes out via evaporation.
Lake Natron which has a high alkaline nature.
With the highest pH size of 10.5, this lake is in direct contact with Lake Natron.
That level endangers all the unlucky creatures in that area.
Photographer Nick Brandt discovered the creatures while shooting in East Africa.
The first thing he saw were the carcasses of birds and bats that had died after falling into the deadly lake.
Nick Brandt wrote in his photo book Across the Ravaged Land that no one knows for sure how these animals died.
During the dry season, Nick Brandt noticed that the carcasses of these calcified and preserved animals were washed ashore throughout the herd.
Nick Brandt had positioned the carcass to show its natural position but the carcass was found to be exactly that.
He only needs to position the object according to his photo needs.
It’s amazing to think that there actually exists a lake that allows animals to calcify like mummies.
