The General Chairperson of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Ahmad Sabri Lubis and the Commander of the Islamic Defenders Army (LPI), Maman Suryadi, have completed examination as suspects and witnesses for Rizieq Shihab in cases of alleged crowds and violations of health protocols.
Most likely the investigators decided not to make arrests.
“God willing, I will not be (detained), I now want to (Subdit) Kamneg (State Security) and have received information from the FPI legal aid team that God willing, today Ustad Sabri and Ustadz Maman can return,” said the Head of FPI Legal Aid Sugito Atmo Prawiro to journalists, Tuesday, December 15th.
According to Sugito, investigators have not issued a warrant for the detention. The two suspects were only examined in connection with the case.
“So if, for example, he will be detained, it means an arrest warrant will be issued. But if for example there is no arrest warrant, it means that today he will be able to leave,” continued Sugito.
Sugito said that the examination of Ahmad Sabri Lubis and Maman Suryadi did take a long time, or around 24 hours. Because in a series of investigations, the two of them were not only questioned as suspects. Investigators also asked for their testimony as witnesses for Rizieq Shihab.
“Broadly speaking, it concerns the organizational problem of FPI. It concerns the implementation of the Prophet’s birthday and the marriage of his daughter (Rizieq Shihab),” he said.
“As well as being a suspect, he is a witness. Because during the event it was Habib Rizieq’s place, but mostly for the detailed information Ustad Sobri will explain in court maybe that,” continued Sugito.
Ahmad Sabri Lubis and Maman Suryadi were named as suspects in a case of alleged violation of the health protocol (prokes) at the Prophet’s birthday and the wedding of Rizieq Shihab’s daughter, Najwa Shihab.
