But washing N95 masks shouldn’t be careless. In fact, according to a recent study, N95 masks must be washed in a rice cooker to be effective in the cleaning stage.
According to Healthshots, professor of civil and environmental engineering and study author Thanh Helen Nguyen and Vishal Verma found that if you want to decontaminate the N95 respirator inside and outside, without affecting filtration and suitability, all it takes is 50 minutes of drying heating in an electric stove.
If you don’t have an electric stove, don’t worry. A regular rice cooker can do the job too!
With a limited supply of respirators, the present invention allows people to reuse them even though they were originally intended as a single-use commodity.
