A twisted mum dumped her two-year-old daughter’s corpse in a lake and carried around a life-sized doll in her place, detectives said.
Evil Tiaundra Christon, 23, abused her toddler in a hotel room before chucking her lifeless body into deep water.
The mother has now ben jailed having been found guilty of tampering with a human corpse in October 2018.
It followed the wide scale search for her ‘missing’ daughter, Hazana Anderson.
More than a hundred desperate rescuers searched for Hazana after Christon claimed she had lost her in College Station Park, Houston, U.S.
Christon had just returned from a trip to visit her boyfriend, Kenny Hewett, before the daring stunt.
Friends reported catching glimpses of the mum and daughter in the days after she returned and CCTV caught her pushing a pram with what appeared to be her little girl strapped in.
But eagle-eyed detectives soon found a life-sized doll dressed in an outfit identical to what Christon claimed Hazana was wearing when she allegedly vanished.
The prop had been binned in a trash can across from where she had parked her car.
Police soon learned that the calculating mother had been carrying the doll to dupe people into thinking it was her baby.
Christon later admitted that Hazana had died in her Houston hotel room — after she and her boyfriend abused her, police said.
Court documents previously revealed that the two-year-old had been beaten and sexually abused in the hotel room before being thrown in the water.
The twisted pair had dumped her body in Texas City Lake, where she was fished out lifeless days later, The New York Post reported.
Christon pleaded not guilty to her charge while Hewett pleaded guilty to his charge of tampering with a corpse.
Both were jailed for a maximum sentence of 20 years and Chrison was also handed a $10,000 fine.
