YouTuber from Indonesia Lutfi Agizal reported a YouTube My Asean account that parodying the song Indonesia Raya by Wage Rudolf Soepratman.
The man was reported to Polda Metro Jaya on a case of alleged defamation through Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE).
“Using the right to report citizens who feel hurt by the parodying song of Indonesia Raya,” said Lutfi Agizal in his Instagram upload on Monday, December 28, 2020.
For Lutfi Agizal, the parody of the song “Indonesia Raya” by the My Asean YouTube channel has insulted the country.
Lutfi Agizal hopes that the report can be accepted by the police and invites the public to guard the alleged defamation case.
It is known, on YouTube was circulating a parody of the song “Indonesia Raya” with the lyrics being replaced with words that are considered impolite.
The video not only contains the Indonesian national anthem which has completely changed its lyrics but also replaces the national emblem of the Garuda bird with a rooster bearing the symbol of Pancasila, on the backdrop of the Red and White flag.
The video, which was uploaded by the account with the Malaysian flag logo, is known to have been circulating since two weeks ago.
However, the video was not found on the My Asean YouTube channel on Monday (28/12/2020).
The Malaysian Embassy in Jakarta said via its Facebook account that Malaysian authorities were investigating the matter.
Then, emphasized that they would take firm steps based on the applicable law if there were indeed Malaysian citizens involved.
