A teenager is in critical condition in hospital after being hit by a police car.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said they were responding to reports of a domestic disturbance when the collision happened on Garners Lane, Stockport, at around 9.30 pm on Saturday.
The boy, aged 15, suffered a serious head injury and officers gave him first aid at the scene until an ambulance arrived. He was then taken to hospital and remains there in critical condition.
Pictures show damage to the front of a police car that has mounted the pavement. Three other emergency vehicles were also at the scene, which was taped off to the public.
A GMP spokesperson explained that the incident had been referred to two organizations for investigation.
The boy has since been taken to hospital with a serious head injury where he remains in critical condition.
An investigation is underway.
This incident has been referred to GMP’s Professional Standards Branch, and the Independent Office for Police Conduct in line with normal procedure.
