The Malaysian Youtuber version of the song Indonesia Raya is viral on social media. Responding to this, through the Embassy in Jakarta, an official statement delivered.
The Malaysian government stated that it strongly condemns any negative form of provocation. And will take firm steps under applicable legal provisions.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) has communicated to the Malaysian government until the video that belongs to the YouTuber MyAsean removing.
“Since two days ago the Indonesian Embassy in KL and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have communicated with the government and relevant authorities in Malaysia regarding this incident,” said the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Teuku Faizasyah to Liputan6.com, Monday (28/12/2020).
Faiza saw that the Malaysian government had taken action on what Indonesia said, including taking down YouTube shows that insulted the song, Indonesia Raya.
However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned against provocative action on the part of Indonesian netizens. The reason is, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also detected elements from the Indonesian YouTuber side who have offending other countries.
“It is also good to explore the uploads of social media content, including YouTube in Indonesia, which is offensive to other countries, including Malaysia,” explained Faiza.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that the perpetrator is from Malaysia.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has submitted to the sanctions in the neighboring country’s law. Malaysia is currently conducting an investigation.
“The sentence hangs over the rule of law in Malaysia,” said Faiza.
